Ideology vs Reality

You can’t be capitalist unless you own the means of production, right?

So by that logic can you be a communist, if you don’t own the means of production?

I’m just wondering can you identify with an ideology, without the ideology being actualized by the people who identify with it?

I mean there’s alot of people who believe in God, Religion, Spirituality, and even Democracy yet they have very little evidence to support their claim.

Does ideology have to become reality before its recognized as a material reality?

But I guess now I understand what Huey Newton meant in his definition of Power:

“Power is the ability to define phenomena, and make it act in a desired manner.”
